Is America a nation of whiners? Yes, so says Phil Gramm, John McCain’s top economic adviser and former senator.
Gramm claimed America has become a “nation of whiners” and everybody has been experiencing only a “mental recession.”
I am sure many Americans are flabbergasted by this statement. Though technically, economists cannot agree on a recession, it is undeniable that many people are already struggling with rising food and fuel costs, falling home prices, and unemployment. To dismiss American voters who fret over such concerns as whiners is akin to political suicide.
America need to exhibit strong leadership and restore its economic powerhouse status for investors’ confidence in the stock market to return.
George Bush, good riddance to him, is already condemned for a disastrous economy report card but with McCain admitting that “economic policy is not his strong suit,” and Obama relatively inexperienced, maybe it is best to depend on divine intervention to sort out this economic mess?
